George Lopez Signs On With Televisa’s Pantelion Films
Actor-comedian George Lopez has entered into a new partnership with Pantelion Films, the company behind films like Instructions Not Included.
According to the Hollywood Reporter, the deal between Lopez and Pantelion will center around a number of production projects and starring roles in upcoming movies for the actor.
As part of the partnership, Lopez is already slated to begin work producing the English-language feature La Vida Robot, which will officially be underway mid-October, with principal photography shot in New Mexico. The film is based on a real-life story about four undocumented Mexican-American teenagers who formed a robotics team in Phoenix. The group eventually take down their super-smart MIT competitors in the nation robotics competition.
“We’re thrilled to be in the George Lopez business,” said Pantelion Films CEO and Televisa USA managing director Paul Presburger in a statement. “George is a comic superstar and brand name in the Latino community, and he reflects the kind of A-List Latino films and TV talent we’re recruiting.”
