Drake Talks About Upcoming Gig As Host Of The ESPYs And Explains “UCONN Shirt” Photo

Drake stopped by ESPN’s “NBA Countdown” Wednesday night to share his excitement about being named host of this year’s Espy Awards.

It’s been a dream of mine for a long time. I watched a guy that I look up to in every aspect of life, Jamie Foxx, do it and I always say if I can follow in his footsteps that’ll be a great career for me, so I was blessed with the opportunity to do it. “SNL” gave me the confidence to do it.

Throughout this college basketball season, we’ve seen him reppin’ for the Kentucky Wildcats, so when a photo circulated after the NCAA finals of him posing with a UCONN player wearing a Connecticut shirt, people were confused, saying he betrayed the team. He wasted no time explaining the circumstances of that photo, saying the photo was taken before the game started.

I took a picture with Rip Hamilton, he was wearing a UConn shirt and I was wearing a James Young logo Kentucky shirt, but the James Young logo looks like a ‘U,’ So just understand I was not wearing a UConn shirt. I am about the institutions when it comes to college, so I support my Wildcats.
