Jordan Says He Can Take Current NBA Players One-On-One

His royal airness Michael Jordan has still got it (or at least he thinks he does).

The 52-year-old said in a recent interview that he can still go toe-to-toe with Charlotte Hornets players and still come out on top, but he falls back because he doesn’t want to “demolish their confidence” (that would be bad, huh?)

Bleacher Report reports that during a recent interview with France’s L’Equipe, MJ was asked if he still plays one-on-one with Hornets players, and his answer was vintage Jordan (transcribed by CBS Sports‘ Ananth Pandian):

L’Equipe: Do you think you can play against some of your guys right now? Do you sometimes do that or not? Could you win on one-on-ones against them?

Jordan: I’m pretty sure I can, so I don’t want to do that and demolish their confidence. So I stay away from them, I let them think they’re good…but I’m too old to do that anyway.

The site also recalls that in  2013 when a then 19-year-old Charlotte rookie Michael Kidd-Gilchrist said he played then 50-year-old MJ, he lost.
