According to media reports San Francisco 49ers running back Reggie Bush plans on suing the city of St. Louis after suffering a season who suffered a season-ending and potentially career-threatening knee injury at the Edward Jones Dome. During the November 1st game between the 49ers and St. Louis Rams, Bush tore his MCL after slipping on concrete surrounding the field at the Jones Dome, which is owned and operated by the city of St. Louis through its Sports Authority and Convention Bureau.
Bush, a nine-year veteran signed a one-year deal with the 49ers in March. The deal could have reached 2.5 million dollars is incentives were met. With his injury history and time spent in the NFL, Bush’s time in the NFL may be over.
Sources say Bush’s suit will likely seek gross negligence given the potential danger of having such a slippery surface abut the playing field especially considering this was not the first incident of this sort to take place there.
