With everything that’s going on involving Syrian refugees and migrant workers, M.I.A. releases a new song titled “Borders.”
“Borders, what’s up with that?/politics, what’s up with that?/ police shots, what’s up with that?/ identities, what’s up with that?/ your privilege, what’s up with that?” raps M.I.A.
Back in the summer, the Sri Lankan emcee released an audio-visual project called “Broader Than A Border.” This song will also join “Broader Than A Border” on M.I.A.’s forthcoming album and film project Matahdatah.
