Coldplay & Beyonce “Hymn For The Weekend” (NEW MUSIC)
Just a week after previewing a snippet of the Beyonce-assisted track “Hymn For The Weekend,” Coldplay has dropped the full track.
Beyonce gets involved quickly as she opens the track singing acapella before lead singer Chris Martin kicks off the first verse singing atop his usual airy pianos for the next minute or so. He’s then joined by Bey’s boisterous vocals as the two sing the chorus and second verse together.
The track will be featured on Coldplay’s next album entitled A Head Full Of Dreams. Chris originally wanted to name the track “Drinks On Me” because he always thought it would be a cool thing to say: “I thought I’d like to have a song called ‘Drinks on Me’ where you sit on the side of a club and buy everyone drinks because you’re so f—ing cool.”
He realized that singing “Drinks On Me” just didn’t make for good lyrics, and from there the creative juices began flowing. Check out the track up top as a bit of a sampler to the album, which is set to release this Friday.
