Alfonso Ribeiro took time to defend his on-screen cousin Will Smith in the midst of the whole #OscarsSoWhite controversy.
TMZ stopped the actor to ask him how he felt about the Oscars boycott. He explained that black people have “bigger fish to fry than the Oscars.”
The reporter asked if he thought Will deserved a nod from The Academy:
“I absolutely believe that,” he explained, albeit a little biased.
“It is the best work he’s ever done.”
Way to have your bro’s back, Carlton!

Scandal made us all feel rightfully uncomfortable with their bold depiction of Olivia Pope’s abortion in the cliff hanger mid season finale.
Now Kerry Washington is speaking out about the controversial on-screen moment:
“[Abortion is] a reality, and more often than not, it’s a really difficult choice to make. The same was true for Olivia,” she told Women’s Wear Daily.
Washington aims to negate the stigma that surrounds abortion by bringing the decision to the forefront of media.
“By not having those moments represented in media, we add to the idea that there’s something shameful to be talked about,” she said. “It’s always important that our storytelling reflects the real experiences of human beings, because it allows us to not feel as alone.”
In a moment where diversity in entertainment is being so heavily discussed, it makes sense for television to not only have an array of colors represented, but also an array of experiences.

The Kardashians‘ connection to the Simpson family runs deep. Kris Jenner was besties with Nicole Brown Simpson when she was murdered, and had to watch her ex-husband defend her alleged killer.
Now that would be some sh*t.
“Nicole was an amazing friend,” Jenner tells PEOPLE
“Before I got pregnant with Kendall, I had a miscarriage at three months,” Jenner told the magazine. “Nicole really got me through that.”
With Brown’s help, Jenner was able to start leading a healthier lifestyle to get pregnant again. Nicole had so much confidence in Jenner conceiving she gave her all of her maternity clothes.
The 60-year-old explained that she was pregnant during the murder trial, and wore the gifted maternity wear in court.
Kendall’s middle name is “Nicole” to honor the slain beauty.
We don’t know how Kris was able to stomach that trial with her ex being the driving force behind that acquittal. That’s just…a lot.
You can watch more of the drama unfold when FX premieres American Crime Story on FX Feb. 2.
