President Obama Admits The “Worst Mistake” Of His Presidency
As President Obama‘s second and final term comes to an end, it’s a time to reflect on the victories— but the mishaps as well.
During a recent interview with Fox News, anchor Chris Wallace asked President Obama what he felt his worst misstep was during his eight years in office.
“Probably failing to plan for the day after what I think was the right thing to do in intervening in Libya,” Obama revealed.
“We averted large-scale civilian casualties, we prevented what almost surely would have been a prolonged and bloody civil conflict. And despite all that, Libya is a mess,” he continued.
Since a NATO-backed revolt dethroned Muammar Gaddafi in 2011, Libya hasn’t been faring much better. With the country a huge oil source, the fight for control over the region has led to a bloody mess.
President Obama was also asked about his greatest accomplishment as president, to which he answered, “saving the economy from a great depression.”
