Prince’s Paisley Park Estate Is Turning Into A Museum
While there’s still speculation as to whether or not Prince’s sister, Tyka Nelson, will inherit the late icon’s estate, it looks like the 65,000 square foot Paisley Park will be turning into a museum.
Huffington Post reports that Prince’s brother-in-law, Maurice Phillips, has confirmed plans to open Paisley Park to the public “for the fans.”
“He was all about the fans — this would remember his music, which is his legacy,” he said. “Prince was always private but would have wanted his music remembered.”
According to Sheila E., this isn’t too far off from what was Prince’s plan. In fact, he had already began pulling things together.
“[He] was working on it being a museum,” she said in an interview with Entertainment Tonight. “He’s been gathering memorabilia and stuff from all the tours, like my drums and his motorcycle.”
As of now, there’s no word regarding when Paisley Park will be ready for visitors.
Prince’s family is also still waiting on confirmation regarding who will inherit the property, but since his sister claims Prince did not leave a will (as reported by New York Times), chances are Paisley Park will be equally divided amongst his siblings.
