Ingrid Reveals What It's Like At Beyonce's Writing Camp
“Love Drought” Writer Ingrid Reveals What It’s Like Going To Beyoncé’s Writing Camp
Last week, rapper/songwriter Ingrid burst a lot of bubbles when she revealed the “real” inspiration behind Beyoncé’s Lemonade standout “Love Drought.”
The Houston native revealed she wrote “Love Drought” out of frustration with Beyoncé’s label Parkwood Entertainment, and all of our fantasies about Bey and Jay Z’s relatable marriage problems went out the window.
We caught up with Ingrid on the 2016 BET Awards red carpet, where she detailed how she writes songs like “Love Drought,” working with Beyoncé, and participating in the Queen’s writing camp.
“It’s no think tank. It’s not what people probably imagine when you say writer’s camp. Everyone has their own individual spaces to work, it’s just facilitated by Bey,” she said.
“We have the opportunity to work with each other if we want. It’s not really like an organized thing. We get beats and we have our own spaces where we’re super comfortable to work. We create and submit things directly to her [Beyoncé] and we wait to see if we made the cut.”
