Deddeh Howard is living proof that dreams do come true.
The aspiring model made waves on the internet this month after recreating famous fashion campaigns that featured White models and calling out the modeling industry for its lack of diversity. Howard’s Black Mirror project seeks to prove African-American women can do it just as well as White models – and she’s apparently caught the attention of some of the industry’s elite.
She told TMZ that agencies that used to shoot her down because they had their quota of “two Black models” are suddenly knocking at her door. No word on which ones have actually contacted her, but Howard explained she’s not jumping immediately at every offer she gets.
