LL Cool J Is The First Rapper Honored At Kennedy Centre

LL Cool J will be the first rapper to receive a Kennedy Centre honor this year. Lionel Richie, Gloria Estefan, Normal Lear, and Carmen de Lavallade will also be awarded.
The Kennedy Center awards is an annual ceremony that celebrates art figures for their contribution to American culture and society. LL Cool J went to Twitter and said, “To be the first rap artist honored by the @kencen is beyond anything I could have imagined”. Then he went on to add “Dreams don’t have deadlines. God is great.”
LL Cool J is 49 years old and ties with Stevie Wonder to receive the honor at such a young age!
