ESPN’s Adam Schefter reports Dallas Cowboys QB Dak Prescott will sit out several weeks after suffering a hamstring injury against the Atlanta Falcons Sunday.
Prescott had an MRI after sustaining a hamstring injury in the second half of Dallas’ 27-21 loss. Reportedly, the outcomes were worse than expected. Pelissero also stated that the team has not decided whether to place Prescott on injured reserve, which would mean he would miss at least four games.
Prescott will seek a second medical opinion to verify his treatment options.
McCarthy revealed to reporters that Prescott will not be available for the Cowboys’ Week 10 game against the Eagles. Cooper Rush, who replaced Prescott on Sunday after his injury, will start. Dallas also holds former first-round pick Trey Lance as a possibility.
The Cowboys’ loss on Sunday put the team 3-5 on the season, ahead of the Eagles game.
