Martin Luther King Jr. Day is observed annually as a federal holiday on the third Monday of January. This year, we celebrate the life and legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., Monday, January 20.

The theme for this year is “Mission Possible: Protecting Freedom, Justice, and Democracy in the Spirit of Nonviolence365,” as stated by The King Center, a nonprofit established by civil rights leader Coretta Scott King to perpetuate Dr. King’s legacy.

H.E.L.P. and the City of Dallas have partnered to host the 2025 Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Parade on January 18, 2025.

It is important to note this year, due to the continued construction on MLK Blvd/SM Wright, the 2025 Martin Luther King, Jr. Annual MLK Day Parade will start at the Fair Park Pennsylvania entrance. It will proceed westbound on Pennsylvania turning right north bound on Latimer making a right on MLK Blvd. The Parade will proceed eastbound returning to Fair Park.
